Ceramic Cement
Ceramic cement is a material made primarily with magnesium oxide and phosphate (MagPhos) cement. The technology is not new but mix designs have been improved allowing MagPhos to be used in the decorative concrete field. MagPhos is considered a greener material compared to Portland
cement based materials because:
- It is made from non-toxic materials
- It is comprised of 30% - 90% green sustainable industrial waste stream materials.
- It is blended via a simple low energy, powder blending process.
Ceramic Cement Products for your home
- Countertops and sinks can be pre-cast with a myriad of decorative aggregates such as recycled glass, shells, decorative gravel and rock. Decorative inlays can also be used to create your custom countertop.
- MagPhos products are available as an overlay product also which can be installed over existing concrete floors and wood sub-decks creating a concrete floor look which is easy to keep clean and very durable. Imagine a flooring surface which has no toxic off-gassing, resists mold and mildew, can be easily sanitized on a regular basis with no danger of harming the finish.
Other possible uses for Mag/Phos materials are mantles and hearths, outdoor furniture, poured in place slabs for playhouses and sheds, and in any application where Portland based cement is used.
